Thermal Heavy Oil Recovery Project for Chevron Global Tech Co. Cycle Steam Stimulation (CSS) Project
M&M Oil Group engineered, manufactured and delivered on an integrated service contract to Chevron Global Tech Co. a full steam generation system for its thermal enhanced oil recovery project (EOR) in the Orinoco Oil Belt (OOB).
The project included the supply of equipment for steam generation and the performing of the following activities:
- Manufacturing and commissioning of a Steam Generator (OTSG 27.5 MMBTU-hr) trailer-mounted
- Portable water treatment plant - Water softener and multimedia filtration system
- Gas scrubber system for fuel gas treatment
- Construction of surface facility for steam injection
- 4 Frack tanks, 500 bbl each
- Steam quality analyzer and flow metering system
- H2S detectors for monitoring and measuring system
- Trailer-office and lodgment facilities
- Real-time monitoring system via Wi-Fi
- Field acceptance test and certification process executed
- Operation and maintenance activities performed
OOB is one of the biggest heavy oil accumulation in the world and the crude at these sites ranges from API 7 to API 10 gravity.
Water Treatment System for Water Re-Injection. Water flooding project at Pemex
M&M Oil Group performed a detailed engineering work to design an integrated water treatment system for a water flooding pilot implementation at the Cinco Presidentes area, Tabasco, Mexico, as follow:
- Low-pressure and high-pressure pumping system
- Filtration system based on multimedia filters and basket strainers
- Chemical injection unit for oil-water separation
- Water storage tanks
- Construction of electrical and mechanical facilities for water injection
- Design of required instrumentation and flow metering system
- Definition of a monitoring and surveillance program
- Consulting and technical assistance for EOR was performed
Cinco Presidente area is one of the most prolific region in Mexico, located south of Veracruz and north of Tabasco state, and it is producing light oil since 1960 operated by Pemex.

M&M Oil Group engineered, manufactured, installed and performed field operation services of a full steam generator package for Thermal EOR at Total E&P JV, as follow:
- Commissioning and operation of a Steam Generator (OTSG 27.5 MMBTU-hr) trailer-mounted
- Portable Water Treatment System (60 GPM each), trailer-mounted
- 3-Phase Separator (450 psi, 500k scf-hr), trailer-mounted
- 5 Frack tanks 500 bbl each for water storage
- Integrated steam quality analyzer
- Trailer-office and lodgment facilities
- Construction of surface facility for steam injection
- Real-time monitoring system via Wi-Fi
- Operation and maintenance activities

- Number of well steamed: 10 wells
- Steam injection rate: 200 Ton/day
- Total of Steam Delivered: 4000 – 7000 TON/Well
- Average Steam Quality: 82%
- Discharge Pressure: 500 – 800 psi
- Injection Temperature: 470 – 520 °F
- Avg. Steam-Oil Ratio (SOR) after CSS:
- 2.0 – 3.5 bbl/bbl
